Women in Internet Governance (WIG) is dedicated to creating spaces where women can actively participate, learn, and take leadership roles in shaping internet policies. Our events and activities focus on building knowledge, fostering collaboration, and ensuring women’s voices are heard in digital governance.
What We Do
We organize practical training sessions, workshops, and discussions to help women understand internet governance, cybersecurity, digital rights, and policy-making. These programs are designed to equip participants with skills they can apply in real-world settings.
We connect women with experienced professionals in internet governance, offering mentorship and career guidance. This creates opportunities for learning, collaboration, and professional growth.
WIG provides a platform for women to contribute to discussions on internet policies. Through dialogues, consultations, and working groups, we encourage participation in decision-making processes that shape the digital space.
Our conferences bring together women from different backgrounds to discuss challenges, opportunities, and strategies for increasing women’s involvement in internet governance.
We engage with schools, universities, and local communities to raise awareness about the importance of digital literacy, online safety, and women’s participation in technology and policy discussions.
We encourage women to take active roles in international internet governance meetings such as the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), ICANN, ISOC and other related spaces where key decisions about the internet are made.
Through these activities, WIG works to ensure that women are not just part of the conversation but are leading and making an impact in internet governance.
